Legendary South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela brings his smooth style to Stern Grove. One of the earliest proponents of world fusion, Masekela blends styles ranging from jazz and R&B, to pop, disco, and Afropop.
Goapele brings soul to Stern Grove with a fresh energy and
perspective on R&B music. Known for her social activism and lush,
soulful ballads, the Oakland-based singer has earned the praise of
critics and adulation of fans nationwide.

Experience “Breathing Under Water,” a unique melding of South Asian music traditions with modern grooves. Anoushka Shankar, Karsh Kale, and other special guests take the stage for an unforgettable afternoon.
Grammy-nominated sitar sensation Anoushka Shankar is the daughter of legendary Ravi Shankar. Best known for his tabla and percussion skills, Karsh Kale’s highly original style fuses electronica with traditional South Asian music.
Presenting Punjabi music in an inventive way, San Francisco-based Non-Stop Bhangra Collective fuses traditional and modern tracks with live tabla and dhol drums, scratching, and the Bhangra dancers of Dholrhythms Dance Troupe.

WILDSANG makes a ton of sound for two people. They are a trip back in time from 2005 to the early years of blues. Great harp. Fine slide guitar. Scorching vocals. Real emotion. This is the Real Deal. It is also an answer to the old time male blues singers. It is feminist blues. Bessie Smith and Big Mama Thornton would be proud.
Currently based in California, WILDSANG combines the power of Delta and Piedmont blues with the songwriting, vocals & guitar of Hillary Kay. The blues harp of Kate Freeman burns through this foundation and together they create a sound steeped in tradition & the voice of the people.
