__________by Portia Taylor

The fire you started
Burns deep within
Smoldering and hissing
And waiting to get started
All over again

It could happen at
Any moment
In the middle of the day
Early morning
Oh, and especially late at night
Without a lot of encouragement
Maybe just a nibble
Here’s my earlobe
Go ahead, take a little bite

The fire you started
Doesn’t need any more
Power
It engulfs me
Whenever you are near
I feel it
And have to control it
Second by second
Minute by minute
And
Hour by hour

The fire within me
Could make a nun blush
By the things I want to do with
And to you
Don’t say a word
Just hush

Relax
Lie still
Allow me to show you
Guide your hands
If you will
To the fire
Inside me!
