“It’s okay to be attracted to me,” you say.
“But I just think we’re on two different levels….”
And, to tell you the truth, I think so too.
But we’re still on the same journey—
towards love, enlightenment, and truth
fighting off demons
on the same battlefield
the pessimistic labels
that threaten
to trap us inside boxes
and confine us
to nights of loneliness, repression, tears, and despair.

I’m younger. You’re older—and a little bit sweeter
But, baby, we can kiss
make-up
make love
and make you feel
a little bit more at ease.
I know you’re afraid of lettting go
thinking that one day
I am going to leave
and so you won’t completely surrender
because you don’t
want your heart broken
like it has been broken so many times before….

But baby, I am here to stay
my love is like a rock
for you to lean on in times like these…..
