QUESTION:

What are your deepest thoughts and feelings about your cocept of spirit or God?

SHORT ANSWERS

This is a subject that is very near and dear to me and its also a touchy very delicate subject when you are gay and you also feel that you have a certain level of connection with your "higher power," "God," "the Spirit" etc... I have a very close relationship with God and He is my source of inspiration and my strength, no doubt, however, I am living this lifestyle which has been something that Ive felt comfortable with for some time, at times I've felt this is wrong, but, I know He loves me and I know that whatever His will is for me, it will all work out for my good in the end.....I don't know if this is a test, whether I will be helping someone else out in the future because of my experiences or what have you, but I do know that He has it all in control.

God is the all powerful entity who created all that exists as well as all things in the realm of imagination. God, being the creator of all, is neutral. If we are created in the image of God, than God cannot be labeled male nor female, God is much more than that. The Creator is also represented by the multitudes of religions in awesome ways, all paths which are positive lead to the Creator. God is everything and nothing at the same time. All of us are aspects of God. All creatures should be respected as such.

I don't really have too many thoughts on the subject of God...I believe there is a higher power but I dont adhere to the limitations or views religion forces upon its followers...It seems as if people use Him as a crutch to do and say whatever they feel and claim its in His name...There may or may not be a God but in either case I am not a puppet to be controlled by such thoughts...

I feel there is a higher power and that power gives us an inate sense of right and wrong. It may vary from person to person however. That is why I feel no one can say an expression of my sexuality is wrong...they would be disrespecting my higher power.

I believe in a Higher Power, whether some call that Power, God, She, He, Yahwah, Allah, or whatever. I think that the idea of an Almighty is comforting.....
This Higher Power helps to guide us, and offers us solace in times of need, and desperation. She is comforting to me.
I don't often go to church, and when I do go, I enjoy being there, but, I don't feel that I need to attend a certain, "Place of Worship" in order to feel close to my God....I feel that God is alive within me, and Her presence is made known by the way I live my life, and the way I interact with others.

Bretheren' and sistren' are not to judge each other but, to love, give, honor and respect each other. Jah is a mighty ruler and he just wants his children to be happy and to love one another. I beleive God is real. God is both female and male energy. God Is and thats that. No human can define what God is or suppose to be. I believe men have used the name God for their abvantage for centuries. Including the slave trade. Black men have exploited our people the same by using God's name. God is when you look in the mirror. God is creator of all things good/evil, etc. We all are spirit or gods and godesses. Amen

I think the concept of "sin" was particularly made up because of the fear of "sexuality," women's in particular. I do believe in sin, but I also believe in LOVE. If God is Love, then so am I. :)
I think God comes to me everyday. Spirit does too. In the form of Divine Order and people that I love, people who come to teach me life lessons and not to fear intimacy. God has healed me and so has love. This makes me happy to be Spirit, bubbly, cute, and alive.....

God is Love...any way you look at it. And noone can tell me that his love for me is any less than the love he has for any of his children. I am working my way back to him everyday with the way I'm living and the things I'm learning. I accept his son as my personal savior and that is all that matters. As long as I'm following the word I can't go wrong. And as far as sexuality goes I believe there is nothing impure about LOVE! Now, if you have drama in your life and/or stress about a sex or love situation, with a woman OR a man, there is something other than love impeding it's wonderful healing process. People have to remember to simplify and seek the love and guidence of a higher power because when you do things will be so much clearer.

God to me is a higher power, it is not a he or a she but a spiritual energy that surrounds me. It is a place that I can go to in time of need and to find solace. I feel when I pray to that energy it changes the events of my life to help me accomplish my goal or help me out of difficult situations. When I pray I don't always get what I want but I always get what I need. I don't visit this spiritual place often, only in time of need, which is not good because I miss out on the guidance this power provide. To me this energy is everywhere, and most importantly it is within us.

We are Spirit, we just don't know it yet. We are born into this life in physical form and struggle most of our lives trying to control and manipulate that physical existence, when in reality, if we could come to know that we are Spirit and that our physicality is but one expression of that Spirit, we would live our destinies consciously and without fear. The greatest joke we have played on ourselves is to think that Spirit is outside ourselves, is another entity, to whom or to which we must pay homage. It is we to whom homage must be paid, in the form of respect for our Spirit-ness. This is only the most simplistic of explanations.

I was raised to be Christian.My mother is a minister. I am lesbian. I have been Lesbian all my life.It seems like the three Minister Christian and Lesbian dont fit together but it does.I feel God made me this way and loves me. It took a long time to get to this point but I have accepted myself and I know God loves me. I know alot of things I DO God dosent agree with but i live my life the best I can.God is all knowing and he is suppose to our comforter and protect us.

God is the spirit within that drives me to live love, and be. Although the essence of goodness and peace that is provided to me by my faith is unchangeable, the role of god within my life is diverse. My faith is an awareness of a presence of goodness and a positive belief that all life has something beneficial to offer. I do not believe in a pre-formed literary god, as I do not believe that the concepts of spirit and faith are the same for everyone. And I positively do not believe that god is male. (or solely female for that matter.)

Christianity has altered our concept of who or what God is. We have come to see God as some mystical ghost in the sky who sets standards that we can never obtain. We are our own God. In the Bible it says that God created man "in our image"...so if the image of God is man, then Man is is his own God. We have the power to create life as well the power to take it away. We have the ability to perform good as well as evil...although we hate to admit, but we need sin. How would you ever know your doing good if you've never done wrong. We need to change the concept of God being all good and the devil being all bad. Neither can exist without the other. Although our bodies die, our life force or spirit is an energy that cannot be destroyed. Your basic chemistry class will teach that energy cannot be destroyed only stored. Our spirit is the key to our conscience. Our knowledge of good and good and bad and the free to choose either our spirit. That whats separates of the from the beast of the Earth. Animals act on instinct. Man has the ability to rationalize his actions.

I was walking this evening in the night, at the end of February, and my teeth were chattering, I was shivering. The wind was roaring way high up in the atmosphere, like a train going by, only softer. And that was the Goddess for me: far away, but still touching me, still making old evolutionary responses fire up. You find Her in the quiet, but She makes Her own noise.

I am an artist (painter and writer). I feel that creativity is the proof that we are God's children. God created us. the fact that I have a gift, however small, is proof to me that I am a child of God. I know I am supposed to explore and share the creativity with which I have been blessed because it is the way I can show the world that GOD IS!!!!!!!!!!!
I also believe that love is love. God has blessed us with being able to give, recieve and feel LOVE....how can it be wrong for me to love another womyn. What human being can say that this powerful love that we share is wrong. Man says that it is wrong but men are not GOD.

I have in the past felt that I was condemned to this lifestyle and that God wouldn't love me or be there and here for me in my times of tribulations. But as I went through situations and problems, God has demostrated time and time again his everlasting and unconditional love, mercy and grace that God has for me. My relationship with my higher power wasn't developed overnight, it took years of understanding and paying close attention to what God was relating to me and what God had for me. I know I was placed here on earth for a purpose and I want to be good helper to all that needs it. God shows me what to do and when to do it. I believe that everyone should establish a rapoire with their higher power, so that you remain in a good space within yourself, in your surroundings, remain on the right track and connected to the main line of opportunities and possibilities.

God is our connection to our inner guide....if we so choose to tune in to find or use it. God is truth and love. God is all knowing and always available to us. It is through our connection with god that we are shown our purpose and our potetial. God is someone I wish I communed with more often. God loves us and it is from him/her that we have come to be.

I am polar on the concept of a Spirit or God. I believe that a God exists as much as is needed to satisfy the unanswerable questions of man. What we cannot remedy ourselves we look towards in a source 'all knowing' to get fufillment. I wiil never deny the presence of a God our past seems so centered around one that not believing within itself is self destructive. God is the nucleus love is the matrix and we are integral parts.

In the Gnostic gospel according to Thomas, Jesus said, "If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you."

I feel god is always there. He is totally real, all knowing and most importantly he understands us and forgives us. I don't feel as if god will ever turn his back on us. As in the case with gays and lesbians, I feel he loves us just the same. No one can get into heaven free of sin. No sin is greater than the other. For those who believe hell will be full of gay and lesbian people, it may be. But, I don't think it will be because of our sexual deeds, no one in their right mind would ask for this. It will be because of other acts that maybe they didn't repent for. I know my god to love me in all situations. He created me how he wanted me. Aside from a few piercings and tatoos, I'm pretty much still in the mold. I didn't choose to be who I am. I believe god knows and understands.

I definitely feel that there is a higher power that has made us, however, I also feel that we as humans have a more spiritual connection to the earth and to the spirits of the earth than we think, and I believe that through unity we can be able to tap into our spiritual resources, and through sheer will, alter our situations in ways that can improve the quality of life. I think that the main problem with the world and all of the evil that surrounds it, is a direct result of all humans losing their unity with each other, there's no direction and morals any more. Once we get back to that, then we can begin to rebuild our homes, and our psychies.

I believe that there is one Creator responsible for the all the elements of life that we in our limited human capacity have the ability to comprehend. I also believe that The Creator exists in all of lifes manifestations. There is really no division of race, sexuality, language, gender, etc. It is just in the way that human beings have conceptualized these "realities". I also, sadly, subscribe to these misconceptions but I strive for enlightenment and spiritual evolution everyday. I think that's our real purpose for being here at this time, in this place with these mindsets, to ultimately uncover the true essence of Love and reunite to the oneness of our Creator.

In the deepest core of my being, I believe that all "spirits" exist. They are not harmful to anyof us, as long as we know which Spirit is of the highest power. Lets not get it twisted....We are protected by these same Spirits in which we are constantly afraid of...namely the Holy Ghost. Yes, it, he, him, her, (call it what you wish) can touch you if it pleases. God does exist and to me He is indeed the highest power of them all.
