Don't ever underestimate the attention of a special woman.
Don't ever guesstimate the intentions of a sweet woman.
Softness can hurt like a paper cut, that eventually becomes infected.
To know that she isn't thinking about you anymore,
Hurts more than three toothaches and a migraine.
Like, you're floating in the thickness of soft clouds,
Drifting way above the stratisfere.
When the wind whips them from underneath you,
And you're left looking like Elmer Fudd.
You know, right when he realizes that Bugs has just lead him off a cliff.
You scramble to get back to the ledge but to no avail.
You end up falling.
The plunge takes the very life, and
All the fight out of your soul.
Landing you in the pit of "I should'a known."
Drowning in the "Tear-bourne" river rapids
Flowing through the midst of "Isolated" canyon.
Bringing you ironically close to the exact spot where you started from.
Only now, you are aware of what you are missing.
The pain is so blinding,
That you can't even see how to begin climbing back up out.
The lesson learned,
A heart has to be earned.
No more free turns.
No more taking a chance on the magical powers of romance,
That you have eagerly bought from the big screen.
No more listening to vibes
For, they can be bribed.
No more getting lost in soft beautiful eyes,
That can conceal lies as effortlessly as one breathes.
Shit, I learned that, when I feel softness like that again,
I am tightening the reins around my heart
And getting the hell outta' Dodge!
Because my heart will no longer be a temporary lodge
For one to just sweep in and out of on a breeze.
