Collette Carter


Writer, director and activist, Collette Carter has studied many aspects performing arts for over 15 years. She graduated from Spelman College class of 96' with a specialization in black theatre.

Recently, Ms. Carter performed in Imani Henry's The Strong Go Crazy at Brooklyn Arts Exchange. In the spring of 2002 she directed and performed in Imani Henry's B4T.

Ms. Carter has managed productions for The Astraea Foundation such as The Lesbian Writers Fund's The Power of the Erotic and 100 Years of Lesbian Writing. She designed costumes for Imapct Theatre Company's production of Five Women Wearing The Same Dress.

Currently Ms. Carter is a staff member of the Audre Lorde Project, in Brooklyn, NY
