RedBone Press seeks well-written personal stories by
\nblack lesbians on the subject of coming out while
\nmarried to a man. Looking for journal entries,
\npersonal essays, creative autobiographical fiction,
\npoetry or whatever way the words come together to
\ndescribe your coming out. This book is intended to be
\na resource for black women coming out of marriage, and
\nfor the women who love them.<\/p>\n

Some questions to address are: How did you tell him?
\n(The “honey, can we talk” speech?) What language did
\nyou use to communicate your secret? Did you know your
\norientation before you got married or after? Why
\ndidn’t you keep it to yourself? Were there any fears
\nof violence? Did it delay your coming out? What is the
\npresent state of your relationship with him? Do you
\nhave any regrets? Do your kids know? How do you manage
\nco-parenting with your ex-husband? If you left your
\nhusband and are not out, how do you co-parent? Was
\nthere any collateral damage? How did you find new
\nsupport systems while finding yourself?<\/p>\n

We are also looking for stories from women who are
\npartnered with formerly married women, addressing
\ntheir point of view surrounding these issues.<\/p>\n

Please send submission, double-spaced and typed (no
\nmore than 35 pages) along with a SASE to the address
\nbelow. E-mail submissions welcome; send files attached
\nas a Word or an rtf document, along with complete
\ncontact information (snail and e-mail addresses).<\/p>\n
