She first began to write at the age of 6, and committed to art as a way of life as a result of the onset of blindness at the age of 24. Taught by her eldest brother who was himself an artist and writer, Azha believes she&#8217;s gotten much of her talent secondhand; her way with words is as colorful and\/or as black and white, at times, as her artwork, and it is to this second handedness that she attributes the push to find her own voice.
