This anthology will focus on the experiences of conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and parenthood from a queer perspective. Some of the topics we hope to address include, but are not limited to, the following\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 How did you come to the decision to become a parent?<br \/>\n\u2022 What was the process and preparation like for you?<br \/>\n\u2022 What type of donor did you use?<br \/>\n\u2022 What was the insemination process like?<br \/>\n\u2022 Where did you give birth? Who attended your birth?<br \/>\n\u2022 How has your family responded to you during pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, birth, and as a parent?<br \/>\n\u2022 How has your transition into parenthood affected your queer identity and your relationships with other non-parent queers?<br \/>\n\u2022 Do you have any queer friends who are parents?<br \/>\n\u2022 What is the support network like in the place you live?<br \/>\n\u2022 Has your queer community been accepting and supportive of your choice to become a parent? In what ways have you felt disappointed by your community?<br \/>\n\u2022 Has your gender and\/or identity affected your path into parenthood?<br \/>\n\u2022 How has your experience as a current or potential queer parent been unique from other parents? What are the commonalities between you and other queer parents, if any?<\/p>\n<p>Guidelines for submission are very flexible, and writers may submit their stories in the form of memoir, personal essay, birth story, and cultural commentary. All nonfiction submissions will be considered. No fiction, please.<\/p>\n<p>Submissions are due by January 15, 2008. Hardcopy or electronic copy will be accepted, although hardcopies cannot be returned.
