CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Iridescence: Lovely Shades of Lesbian Erotica
Edited by Jolie du Pre
Alyson Books, Spring/Summer 2007
Iridescence is a new and exciting anthology that celebrates lesbians of color. I am looking for original, unpublished erotic stories from 1,500 to 6,000 words. Vanilla to BDSM. No heterosexual or bisexual themes. I am hoping to represent a variety of races (e.g., black, Native American, Asian, Latina) and ethnicities in this anthology. Caucasian characters are acceptable, but a main character must be a woman of color. Stories that exoticize or fetishize women of color will not be included.

A maximum of three submissions per person. Contributors will receive $50 and 2 copies of the anthology.

Send stories as Microsoft Word, plain text or RTF format, double spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font to womenofcolor@ameritech.net. Put “Iridescence Submission” in the subject line.

Include all of the following information:

1. Name
2. Pseudonym (if applicable)
3. Address
4. Phone number
5. Email Address
6. 50-word Bio

Deadline: August 31, 2006 (This deadline is final. The manuscript will be submitted to Alyson soon after.)

You will receive a response from me by October 2006.

June & July Update

Posted in Uncategorized on July 30th, 2006 by

Traditionally, we go on vacation in June and there is no update.  This year, we opted to have a small update–8 short, short stories of 2000 words or less. You can see those in our archive.

The site was updated for July on the 15th with 15 new poems and 3 new stories.

Hi Kuma Readers,

From now on, the easiest way to catch up with what’s new at Kuma is to keep an eye on this blog.  The monthly update newsletter will still go to the mailing list, but here I’ll put updates, non-Kuma Announcements, calls for submissions, and anything else I think may be of interest to Kuma readers.

So, if you were reluctant to sign up for our mailing list, just bookmark this page or subscribe to the RSS feed.
